BHARUCH: Around 1,200 policemen and their families in Bharuch will get a smart health card from February. The card will work on Quick Response (QR) code technology.
The health card will have complete health data of a card holder.
A K Singh, additional director general of police said, "This is most innovative project to monitor the health of policemen.
When they go for emergency treatment, data on the health card will save lot of time of doctors to understand their medical history. Once successful, it will be replicated across the state."
The QR code can be scanned using any smart phone. The data on the smart card will also be uploaded on website healthcard.org.in within seconds.
Bipin Ahire, Bharuch superintendent of police, said "Most policemen suffer from stress which leads to heart attacks, blood pressure and diabetes. Many have even died due to the ailments. Our aim is speedy diagnosis of their illness," said Bipin Ahire, superintendent of Bharuch.
This special e-card with barcode number will have details of past medical history, blood group, emergency contact number among others.
A Mumbai-based firm has provided the technology for this project free of cost.
